Great news! Electric vehicles from the Chinese brand Leapmotor can once again be officially imported into Uzbekistan. On April 14, the Agency for Technical Regulation and the UzTest Center announced that repeat tests at the Piskent laboratory were positive.
Conditions set for Leapmotor
- appoint an official representative — a legal entity resident in Uzbekistan — to fix any non-compliance of Leapmotor vehicles and compensate customers for damages;
- submit the documents required for type approval of all Leapmotor vehicles imported into the country.
What happened
In late March, certification of all Leapmotor models was suspended after the Leapmotor C16 showed electromagnetic interference 16 times above the permitted limit.
On April 14, another unit of the same model was tested in the presence of a Leapmotor representative and passed.
